The route starts in Seia at 522 m elevation and quickly ascends on paved roads, beginning with a 4 km climb at 7% average gradient to 811 m. It passes through São Romão at 3.3 km and Senhora do Desterro at 6.1 km. Following a brief descent, the main climb continues for 22.4 km at an average 5.3% gradient, reaching 1989 m at Torre near the end of the route.
