Route overview

Suits riders of any level, including beginners, with 50.7 km and a near-negligible 60 m of climbing.

A flat 50.7 km desert loop from Dubai with just 60 m of climbing, passing Mugatrah at the 14.6 km mark.

The loop starts and finishes in the same spot on the edge of Dubai, where a restaurant and a drinking water point sit at km 0 - the only facilities recorded on the whole circuit. From there the route runs out into open desert terrain, gently losing height over the first stretch. Mugatrah lies about 585 m off the route at 14.6 km, and shortly after, at 16.7 km, the loop touches its lowest point at 54 m. The second half rises very slightly to the high point of 97 m at 39.2 km, the sum of it all being 60 m of climbing across 50.7 km, split almost evenly between the two halves at 48% in the first. There is no categorised climb anywhere on the loop. With a total spread of just 43 m between the lowest and highest points, the profile is effectively flat and the pace is dictated by wind and heat rather than gradient. The final 11 km bring the route back to the start, closing the circuit where the water and restaurant are.
