The route begins near Brodick and heads east to villages including Lamlash and Whiting Bay. Early climbs include a 3km section gaining 100m at an average 3.3% gradient past Brodick and a 2.4km climb gaining 72m at 3% near Lamlash. After Whiting Bay, the road descends close to sea level before reaching South Kiscadale. Continuing westwards, the route passes villages such as Kildonan and Blackwaterfoot and includes climbs such as the 1.1km ascent with a 4.2% average gradient and a maximum of 9%. The route proceeds to Shiskine and Machrie before a longer climb of 4.3km gaining 190m at 4.5% approaching around 75km. The final section goes past the peak of Torr Nead an Eoin and other hills, finishing back near Brodick. The highest point on the route is 190m at about 80km.
