The ride proceeds through Inverkeithing and Hillend with a short climb starting at 18 km gaining 40 m at 2.8% average gradient. It heads on to Dalgety Bay and Burntisland, then Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy where a longer 6 km climb begins at 46.9 km with 159 m gained at 2.6% average gradient, reaching 161 m height.
