The loop leaves Khor Fakkan and reaches its high point of 571 m at 3.5 km, beneath peaks of 870 m and 848 m, with further summits of 848 m and 745 m to the side by 9.7 km. A reservoir observation deck comes at 12.8 km, then Ar Rufaysah at 14.2 km and the run of suburbs around Al Yarmouk, Al Hutain, Al Burdi and Al Rifa'a between 16.8 and 18.7 km. The route continues to Madha at 30 km, passing ‘Iqāb Shawābiq (240 m) and Jabal al Ḩabillih (196 m), with a viewpoint at 34.8 km before Sa‘d and Nahwa at 39.2 km. Drinking water is available at 43.5 km. The coastal section takes in Mirbah and Qurayyah near 57 km, where there is a fuel station, then Sakamkam at 69.9 km beneath Al Jabal Al Ahmar (155 m). Inland again, the road passes Yabsa, Al Farfar and Al Bithnah at 86.9 km, then Ghura, Bulaidha and Daftah at 97.7 km, below Jabal Salhal (605 m). All the measured gain falls in the first half; the low point of 478 m comes at 106.6 km near Shis, under Jabal Daftah (878 m).
