Route overview
Riders comfortable with a 112 km day; at 809 m of climbing the gradients are modest, so endurance matters more than climbing strength.
A 112.3 km loop from Masafi in the Hajar Mountains, dropping to the coast at Dibba Al Fujairah and Khor Fakkan before turning inland.
The loop starts at Masafi at 438 m, the lowest point of the ride, and climbs almost immediately: a 1.6 km rise from km 4 averaging 2.8% and topping out at 507 m, with the route's high point of 523 m coming at km 7.2. Al Baha, Al Khalabiya and Al Ghūnah follow in quick succession, then Abadilah and Al Halah by km 21.6 as the road works its way down towards the sea. Dibba Al Fujairah arrives at km 38.8, and from there the route runs south along the coast past Al Fiqait, Rul Dadna, Al Aqqah and Sharm, beneath Jabal Dadna (102 m), Jabal al Minab (156 m) and Jabal al Habil (288 m). Al Badīyah and Lulayyah lead into Khor Fakkan at km 74, the second town of the ride and the densest stretch for cafés and restaurants. Beyond Khor Fakkan the road turns inland through Al Qadsia and Ar Rufaysah, passing a reservoir observation deck at km 88.3. Shis comes at km 99, then Daftah, Ghadf and Al Ghamarah on the final run back up to Masafi. Total climbing is 809 m.
